I don't know how many people in the States are aware that the Dawsey line in the UK (I assume the US Dawseys originated here) could soon be extinct (well hopefully a few more years as I'm only 55)!
As far as I know (if anybody knows different let me know) there are no male lines left. My son died in 1995 aged 18 and I think he may have been the last.

Our Dawsey line originated in England in the late 1700's as far as we know. We are just beginning research and haven't gotten very far yet.

around 1760 to Virginia i have heard he came with two

My name is Paul Dawsey and I was born and live in the UK. My father (John Robert Dawsey - known as Jack) always told me that we'd be the only ones - his side of the family all came from Sunderland. Of the blood line that I know of, I am the only one to carry on the name in the UK. I have a sister, Jane, and I did have a cousin Martin, but he died at an early age.

I'm 35 and don't yet have children but I did get married last year and it is certainly on the cards.

Unfortunately we cannot carry the Dawsey line back to an individual in Great Britain. Therefore we don't have a connection. I have several good guesses as to who we started out with but nothing definite. It is also unfortunate that the Dawsey line in England is a dying line because it is so prolific in the United States.
