I'm just getting started with this. Most of
the info I have on Roland was researched by
my father, Charles Ware in Texas. Roland was
born in 1761 and died in 1864....103. Not bad. His son, Robert, was killed in the Civil
War. Another son, Hamilton Price, was my
great great great grandfather. Please feel
free to email me.

This is the info I have on my Hugh Duggan. First his full name is Robert Hugh Duggan. He married Jane Duggan. He fought in the War of 1812 and is buried in GA. Not sure where in GA. Jane was granted land in Siever Co., TN because of Hugh was a veteran. I have the names of his descendents and will give them to you if you like.

I was always told by my grandfather that Robert Hugh Duggan came from Ireland in the 1770's. Still trying to find more info on Robert Hugh.
My GG Grandfather John Duggan(son of Robert Hugh) had a son named Hugh by his first marriage.
Don't know if either Hugh's are your particular Hugh. Let me know if I can Help.

Thank you for your response. We do not appear to be talking about the same Hugh and Robert Duggan, but I wonder about if they are closely related. My Hugh Duggan, Sr.(I have seen a number of reportings on him and never seen that his first name was Robert but could have been) married Margaret Wilson and they were born in Ulster, Ireland. They came to America about 1770 with two sons, Hugh Jr. and Robert Sr. On the way a son Daniel may have been born. Robert, Sr. married Margaret Dunn. Robert Sr. was a Sgt. in the Revolutionary War. Robert seems to have been a popular name for several generations of Duggans in my line of descent so may have been popular among several lines of Duggans. I would be interested in your Hugh's descendants to see if they in anyway connect with mine.

I am also a descendent of Robert Duggan. My grandfather is Kenneth, and great-grandfather was Oscar. Bernice is my great-aunt. Robert was an officer in the Revolutionary War. The Sons of the Revolution named their Sevier Co. chapter after him.
