Surnames: Dare-Delaney, Shaund
I am looking for information about John Dare-Delaney born about 1850, possibly in Kildare.
I got his name from the marriage record of his son, Patrick Francis Dare-Delaney born about 1891. It says that his occupation was officer in The Royal Scots. No luck yet searching military records.
Other info on the record shows Patrick's mother, so assume John's wife, was Margaret McLauchlin Dare-Delaney, nee Shaund.
I have hit a dead end with this - can't find any other Dare-Dealaney's that would fit agewise. Also I cannot find any other information on Margaret McLauchlin Shaund.
If anyone has information on any of the people above, I would really appreciate it.

Is the spelling Dare-Delaney or. I've been through a number of sources and don't find any hyphenated names.

British Army records (prior to 1922)were held at the
National Archives, Kew, London. There is now a link to a pay website for these records.

MILGENIRE, is the Military Genealogy Ireland message board, just google. These folks can be quite helpful.
The Royal Scots have been in existance since 1625 (lst. Regiment of Foot) and were
stationed in Holywood, Northern Ireland in 2010.
1896 in Ireland Curragh or Fermoy

Curragh could be Antrim, Clare or Cork but Fermoy is Cork.
So you should think of Cork in terms of Military.

Found no Shaund as a surname in any resource. There are
Dare's and Delaney's but not together.

Cork Civil Registration:
The closest I came was a Patrick Delaney born Oct-Dec 1892 Cork #101064/004193978
William Francis Delaney Oct-Dec 1893 #101064/004193978
Julia Frances Delaney July-Sept, 1893 #101064/004193978

These all have the same Latter Day Saints film #'s. You can
see them or order them at your closest LDS Heritage Center
and some Libraries.

There are 6 Margaret McLauchlin (various spellings)
born in Cork in the 1860's. Having a son born 1891 she could of been born from 1864-1871.
