I am searching for ancestors by the surname of Burt. The most recent is Margaret Burt, b. 11 January, 1843 (probably in Muiravonside, Sterling, Scotland and married to Andrew Scott on 25 May 1867 in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A.
Margaret's father was John Burt,Sr.,b. 12 August, 1816,
Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. He married Margaret _________
on 10 December 1836 in Torryburn, Fife and he died on 18 April, 1888 in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A. Margaret______
was born on 30 May, 1814 at Baldridge, Dunfermline and she died 0n 09 August, 1874 also in Salt Lake City, Utah.
John and Margaret Burt had fourteen children all of whom were born in Scotland.
Margaret Burt was born to a woman named Ann Allan, b. 13 January, 1791 at Baldridge, Dunfermline. Ann Allan was
married on 06 March, 1813. (I do not know his name and I do
not know the dates of either of their deaths). Ann Allan's parents were David Allan and Margaret Wilson
Here I skip a little, I can't quite figure out the relationship, but I'm sure that there is one, but next I have a man named Alexander Burt, b. 29 December, 1786. On 03 September 1807 he married Helen Hynd. I know nothing more about Helen Hynd and I don't know of any children to this marriage. Alexander Burt's parents were Andrew Burt
b. 31 October, 1764 in Kaistock, Dunfermline, Fife and Agnes Williamson, b. 25 February, 1765 in Dunfermline. they were married on 30 June, 1787 in Torryburn, Fifeshire. I show only one child, that being Alexander.
Agnes Williamson was born to William Williamson and Mary Knox. I know nothing about either of these two people.
Andrew Burt's parents were Peter Burt and Margaret Russell. I, also, know nothing more about either of Andrew's parents.
I know that I have given a lot of information here, maybe I've written too much, I don,t really know, but if anyone can use any of this information to help build their own trees, then I am happy for them and I am happy to have been of some help.
