I am a Niccum decendent, who is looking for information on the Niccums from Germany/Bavaria. If you know some genealogy on the Niccums/Nickums of Germany and when they came and how, etc., names of decendents, etc. Please help. I would like to do a family tree on my father's side for my mother (almost 90 years old) and my eight siblings, and their children, and for my son, Peter.

Good evening Glennys, -- I have considerable information on the Nickum/Niccum/Nickom/Nycum family, thanks largely to information left with me by the late John T. Niccum. The Nickum family consisting of two brothers, their wives and children, and their parents, left the Rhineland-Palitinate area of Germany in 1749 and emigrated to America through Philadelphia. Another brother had arrived in 1739. Let me know what you want and I will search my records. -- John

Hi Pat,

I am so glad to get your response to my message. I have learned a great deal since this message about our family and would love to share all that I know with you. I have had the great pleasure of meeting the descendants of Sherman Nickum and Albertina (Bertha) Nickum. Ron Metzler is the grandson of Albertina Nickum Metzler and lives inCincinnati. He has been wonderful and has full of info about the family. If you don't know him, I would be glad to introduce you! What branch do you descend from? Ron and I have gathered a great deal of info to share and would love to see what you have also! Danielle

Danielle,

From The research I have obtained there may have been more siblings.Adam ,William,George,Henry,Nicholas, and Magdalena and possibly a Jacob.Henry was my Great Grandfather. If you look on the 1990 directory you find a few of these names living together in the Rahenkamp houshold.Henry married Anna P Rahenkamp and William married Nettie Rahenkamp(sisters).I also found George and Magdalana lived in the same apt building.Years later Magdalana's son married George's wife Tillie. Some of these names are buried at VineStreet Cemetery and others at Walnut Hills Cemetery .Katherine's maiden name according to the library and the Cinti Freiel Presse is Pott.I am trying to make a 100% connection with Henry as a son or grandson to Katherine and Jacob.I would very much be interested in meeting Ron Metzler and continuing our search before it is lost forever. Thanks,Pat
