I'm Rodlfo Faistauer, my great-grandparents were Ambros and Maria Feistauer. They came to Brazil in the XIX century (about 1870/80) from the city of Witkowitz, today Czech republic, at that Austria. What I know about Feistauer is, that the first ones were from the hamlet of Faistau, Salzburgerland, Austria , and were called FAistauer. In the XVI/XVII century some Faistauer went to Bohemia. Some Feistauer went to France to, and there the surname "transformed" to FESTOR. Why Feistauer is a Glass maker surname? Please send me informations about Feistauer. My e-mail: faist_rodolfo@hotmail.com

I have some information on DAMM family.
I show that Gustav a glazier or glassmaker came to the US at age 19 on Oc 20 1881 from Germany on board the Ohio.

In Meisenthal I show no Damm listings in any of the Meisenthal materials I have.. but that does not mean the family was not there. It just means I have nothing that shows them.

I also show a Jacob Damm who came to the US on May 23 1849 from Weiden or Weiden W. Not sure where that is or what the other W might stand for.

Hope something here helps you.

Thank you so much for your quick response. I have information about Adam Damm marrying Helene Leininger in 1850 in Meisenthal, France and he was a glass worker. Adam's father was Jacques and he was married to Anne Marie Stenger. Adam later went to St. Denis. His son, Phillipe came to the US in 1902 to join his son Eugene, who was a glass wrker in Vineland, NJ at Victor Durand factory. As far as I can see, there were at least three generations of glass workers. Adam, Phillip, and Eugene. Do you have an copies of pictures of the glass factory at Meisenthal?

Thanks
