My great grandfather, James Reid was born in County Antrim, Ireland in l799 and emigrated with his wife Jane (also born in l799 in County Antrim) to New Brunswick, Canada with their first son John in l8l9. James died on the farm in l874. After Jane died, James remarried the widow Mary Ann Day in l873.James and Jane had ten other children after coming to Canada one of which was my grandfather Samuel who was born in l840, just one hundred years before I was born in that same house.
