Looking for Ancestors and decendents of Jasper Gravitt b: May 30,1852 GA d: July 22, 1917, married Angline J "Irena" Crow b: June 4, 1853 in Forsyth Co., GA, d: October 11,1932. They married January 03, 1884 in Forsyth Co., GA. Angline Crow is daughter of
Samuel Beucie Crow b: January 1825 and Irena Bennett b: Oct 1830.

Also looking for info on Warren Gravitt bet. 1865-1899 that married Lydia Wallis. Lydia is daughter of Rev. Harvey Collins Wallis b: abt 1849 GA and Mary "Polly" Ann Blanton born February 09,1849 GA.

If you are referring to the Obadiah born around 1785, it is believed that he is the son of the Obadiah born around 1752, who married Milley (unknown maiden name). Obadiah Sr. was the son of Charles Gravett, who was the son of Henry Gravett. It is believed, based on research by Virginia Gravatts of the Rappahanock Valley, that the first Gravett/Gravatt on this continent was John who married an Ellen. It is also believed that Henry was the grandson of this John and there is one missing generation. I have more information if you would like it. Let me know.

Dear Sharon,

I have been working on this branch although it is not my direct line. Jasper's parents were John B. Gravitt, b. 1831 and his cousin/wife Anna Teresa Gravitt. I studied the census records carefully and the best theory I could come up with was Robert Reuben Gravitt and Nancy (Tidwell) as being John B. Gravitt's parents. However, I was just told by a descendant that he was told by a family member that John B. Gravitt was brother to James Gravitt (wife Conny), which means that Randolph was his father. However, the problem with this is that there was another John Gravitt, b. 1801, who is also thought to be Randolph's son. My question is, were there ever two sons with the same first name in the same family, especially if one was born when the first had already left his family of origin? I am descended from this John born around 1801 so naturally I would like to clear this up. I have a lot of information on your branch given to me by cousins closer to you than me. Do you have an Andy Gravitt who married Lisa Holland, their daughter Maggie married Richard Elonzo Duke. He was born 1884, Bosque Co, Tx. No dates for Maggie or her parents. Maggie and Richard Duke had son James Obediah. Thanks, Fran Bolton
