I have BRITTAIN families in Hendricks County. They arrived about 1830 from Rockcastle Co, KY and some descendants
are probably still living there. Harmon BRITTAIN (b. 1796-1799) was a druggist and his father was Parks BRITTAIN.
Parks (b. 1760-1770) moved on but some of his children stayed in Hendricks County, including Harmon, who had the
following children with wife Sarah (HOUK?):

--Elizabeth BRITTAIN b. about 1824, d. 20 Dec 1894 in Hendricks County, m. Daniel ELGIN 28 Nov 1844 in
Hendricks County
--Zarilda BRITTAIN b. about 1830, d. after 1860
--Ann BRITTAIN b. about 1831, m. David O'HAVEN 3 Jan 1859 in Hendricks County
--Mary J. BRITTAIN b. about 1833, d. after 1860
--Martha BRITTAIN, b. about 1835, m. Mahlen THOMPSON 30 Apr 1857 in Hendricks County
--Sarah BRITTAIN, b. about 1837, m. [perhaps] Thomas RAINEY 15 Jun 1857 in Hendricks County
--Catharine BRITTAIN b. about 1843, d. after 1860
--Evaline BRITTAIN b. about 1844, d. after 1850
--Isabel BRITTAIN b. about 1849, m. John MESLER 25 Oct 1870 in Hendricks County

I have done no research at all on the Brittian's. However, I do know that my great-grandmother's name was Sarah Jane Brittain. She was born April 10, 1837, possibly in Hendricks Co., IN and she married Quincy Clay Tomlinson on Sept. 2, 1852 in Hendrix Co. Any chance that this is the same Sarah as yours that was born in 1837?

This is my first trip thru this web site.
I see that you have a SARAH BRITTAIN listed, I have a Sarah a. brittain b Jan 15, 1837 and d nov 10, 1903 and is buried at the Paris cemertry in Clinton county Indiana in al little town of Boyseton.
They may be from same line, Most of the brittains I need are from this area, but I do not have much info on them, I am at a road block.
