Mayhew (spelled in all sorts of ways!) is an English name. Thomas Mayhew was an early 17th century pioneer to Massechusetts.

In Quebec we have a very common name which is Maheu. This name could sound like Mayheu if it was anglicised. Hope this helps.

I am trying to find out any information regarding Thomas Mayheu born in Quebec and later moved to USA and married Mary ann Gilmore also born in Quebec. They had my great grandmother Laura Irene Mayhew. Thanks.
