I have a Millie Manley and also a Cherry
(Marvin) Manley. Where are your Manley women from? Mine are from Ashtabula Co., OH.

Hello There,

I really have no idea of where they were from. It seems as they both married into the Cumbo family and for some time lived in Northampton County, NC (Rich Square, NC).

Millie Manley (Manly) married Britton Cumbo around the 1840s and Cherry Manley married Hezekiah Thomas Cumbo around 1860s or later. I have no idea of what these women looked like except I was told that Cherry had red hair and blue eyes.

I am sure I have come across this group. They are not in my tree but that of a Brevitt Manley. We corresponded several times. This is a copy of the info sent to me re: Cherry of Northhampton."Cherry manley wasmary jane (born03Mar 1875) Cumbo's mom who was my grandgather, Arvery thomas (born 16Dec 1902)Long's mother. My mom was Ardeth Long (born 30 Jul 1930) Lee. Cherry (or Charity?) was born 17 sep 1859. and her brothers were Winborn (born @1847, and Britton (born july 1860)manley. their mother was named Millie (born @1820)" his email address is PCManley@ix.netcom.com I hope this helps.
