I believe that Franz Bodde lived in Allendorf; his baptismal record is in Paderborn. He came to the U.S. possibly around or after 1850. His wife Adelheid Cramer is listed in the Passenger & Immigration Lists: German in American 1850-1874. The were married in St. Boniface Church, Detroit, Michigan, circa 1860 plus. I need help in tracing their ancestry in Germany. I will be very grateful if you can give me some direction. Thank you - Mary A. Bodde, SC(Sister of Charity)

Hi, Mary.

I'm working on a project where I'm trying to find and trace all emigrants from Allendorf, Westphalia, Germany; and I just found your message while doing an Internet search.

I have your family on my website at:
http://allendorf.kinfolks.info/other/bodde.htm#Franz

I show Franz Bodde's wife as being Adelheid Braun instead of Cramer, however. But, I did get that info from an index and not from the original record, so it might possibly be wrong. Or, maybe it was a second marriage for Adelheid.

Maybe you can fill in some of the holes in my information on your family.

Thanks,
Joe
