My great great grandparents, Jan ZIZKA, b. 1848 and his wife Maria (nee KOKES), b. 1848 were married in the Trebon or Veseli nad Luznici region of southern Bohemia c. 1868. They had a son, Jan Frantisek ZIZKA, b. April, 1869. This ZIZKA family emigrated to the United States in April, 1872, possibly accompanied by Frantisek KOKES, b. 1813 and wife Maria, b. 1820, the father and mother–in–law to the above Jan and Maria ZIZKOVI. The family settled in Veseli, Minnesota and are first found there in the US Census, Minnesota, for 1875. I would appreciate any exchange of information on this, my family.

My great, great grandfather is Frantisek Kokes. I have Frantisek coming to the US in 1870, but it's very possible it was 1872. My records lead me to believe that his wife died and is buried in the Trebon. He came to the US with his son's family (Albert Kokes). Frantisek is buried in New Prague, MN. Where are Jan & Maria Zizka buried ?? I live in the Twin Cities and would be happy to check into the Zizka family history if I can help you.

Dan, I look forward to hearing from you.

Jim

I do not know alot about my family. My mother's maiden name is Kokes and she is from the Twin Cities area. She was raised in Minneapolis. She has talked of her family being from Bohemia originally. My mother is now in her 60's and I know she lived for a time with her grandparents in Minneapolis but I have no information on what their names are. I will have to see if I can get her to open up to more info on names and will let you know. I know nothing about geneology. Just happend across this site.

Jan Ziska of Veseli is consistently a sponsor for the Radosta family of New Prague in the 1870/80's in marriages and baptisms. . The Radosta family came to the USA circa 1872. In the death records for the church of St Weneslaus, Frank Radorta is listed as born in Mlyny, Bohemia in 1822. I am trying to find the relationship of these two families.

Teresa,

Jan Ziska, of Veseli, Minnesota, my great great grandfather came to the USA in April/May, 1872. He was a very active man in the religious community as he was one of four founders of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Veseli, MN.

Please contact me at danzizpub@aol.com so that we might trade information.

My name is Victor Malecha, I live in Brasilia Brazil
Maybe you could give me a hand, I am looking to find relatives of my grandfather, also find documents of my grandfather that I can take the dual nationality, but have not found much, anything that can help me a lot and I have managed to find the internet.

As my grandfather died when I was only 1 year, not had any contact with him and my grandmother died when I was 8 years, then my mother who has contact me some things and my aunts (sisters of my grandmother).

My grandfather called Joseph Malecha (which is written in the portfolio of foreign), I think it was in Polish Jozef, and not really know how malecha is in Polish. He was born on 19/02/1904 , my mother thinks was in the city of Gdansk . He did not want to lose his Polish nationality.

It came to Brazil with 17 years (but my mother has no say in that year was, does not know if he came here with 17 years or if the left Poland with 17 years, thought it would be between 1921 to 1923) for the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (but do not know, which city he left, if it came directly to the Rio de Janeiro or if landed at another port and came to Rio de Janeiro), and Rio served as master-of-works. Marriage with my grandmother Hertha Klein (Austrian), and had two children Mario Malecha and Monica Malecha (my mother).

His parents were called Ignacy Malecha and Cecylia Malecha, and he had 10 more brothers. So I have a lot of relatives in Poland . But I tried to look at sites for genealogy, and others, and not find anything.

He returned to visit Poland in the year 1966, my mother thinks that was an aircraft cargo or cargo ship. It was about 3 months. I do a query on the Consulate of Poland in Rio de Janeiro , to see if they find some documentation, but they have not answered me.

These information that I have, if you can help me on something, find relatives, sites that can help me, in fact anything.

Since already grateful.
Sincerely,

Victor Malecha
