I am trying to find some early history on the small town of St. John. When was it first settled/established?
When did St. John and Clover combine to form Rush Valley City?
Thank you for any help.

There are a couple of books out there called The History of Tooele County Pt 1, and History of Tooele County pt 2. The second book is available at the Tooele newspaper, The Tooele Transcript. You might check there.

There is a new book Rush Valley. It was compiled for the 150 year celebration. Lacey Russell was the one who compiled the book and I believe that it is available at the Transcript Bulletin office in Tooele.

For a quick on-line history go to
http://www.nw-utah-heritage.com/year04/winter04/articles/bla...
. Rush Valley is a township and also

.
St. John is a little bit hard to find on a map. If you follow I-80 west from Salt Lake about 30 miles west is the City of Tooele (pronounced like two-willah). From Tooele contiune south on state road 36 about 20 miles to find St. John. The communities of St. John and Clover make up what is known as the Town of Rush Valley. Not 100% positive but I believe incorporation took place around 1984.
