I have not been able to find a coat of arms for Balderrama. I have found one for Baldes or Valdes.

Balderrama;
Rama refers to a series of persons having their origin from the same family tree. The surname designates all individuals of the Baldes family.

Baldes is a Basque surname first documented in San Sebastian, Guipuzca Spain in 1566.

Hola Carmen: Coats of arms (escudos) can be viewed easily, if available.There are always people willing to show an "authentic" escudo or "crest' , and to sell you one along with "an embossed" family history, so be wary! Simply use any search engine and type the surname and escudo. for example BALDERRAMA ESCUDO and you can view it, often in color. But keep in mind that different branches of the line can offer different escudos, some of them resembling each other, and some radically different from ea. other. as for acquiring an escudo: simply download it, they are nice in color. I would caution: dont be in a hurry... do your research before you pay ANYONE for anything. What the heck, if you draw well you cam copy it yourself. A study of the SINIFICADO of the various elements in the escudo, and their meanings can be interesting, as well. The same people who offer them also offer a history, usually military, of that shield, because Spanish escudos were acquired according to military prowess. again, be sure that it IS of your line before you shell out bucks. good luck. Are you related to the Balderramas of Satevo Chihuahua? Antonio Perales del H

Antonio, I noticed your reference to Satevo Pueblo Balderramas. I'm descended from Concepcion Balderrama & Salome Orozco m. 10 Jul 1810 in Satevo. Do u have any info on them?

Hola Jaime; Other than that I seem to recall a posting here about an 1829 marriage joining Balderrama and Fierro possibly in Satevo, I know nil about Balderrama history in that municipio.I did meet a cousin there in 1971 who joined my family in visiting Luz Corral and showed me about Cd. chihuahua as well. His name is listed in the Chihuahua phone directory on a page sent to me by Carolina Tomkinson Gomez del Barrio, there are Balderramas in her family as well as Hierros. DO check out her site: GOMEZ del BARRIO of LOS ANGELES her search includes Spain. I dont recall Holguin, but do look at the list of surnames on that site. Also i found a couple of Balderramas in ALMADAS Diccionario de Chihuahua in the PERIODICOS section: a Balderrama was redactor of the frst Boletin Oficial of Chih. in 1835. As I recall there are Balderramas listed as well under their surname. They appear to be close cousins to me and I'm sure have intermarried with my family many times over, with Fierros and hierros, that is . Carolina sent me a page of Hierros and del Hierros in that phone directory and I plan to write them, as i dont doubt that there is family there, or at least info. Do you still have my e-mail adress? Antonio P del H.

Hola Antonio. Thx for the info. In changing ISPs I inadvertently deleted many e-mail addresses including yours.

Rosa: To search for an escudo try Apellido Balderrama Heraldica, or, Apelldo Balderrama escudo, Or apellido balderrmama nobiliario. The Balderrama have an impressive ascendencia, historically, in Spain. Try a spanish enciclopedia ( an old one) for interesting history and ascendencias on variuos apellidos. My great grand mother was a Valdes ( b. about 1840 or 1845 ) from near Pilar de Conchos (now Zaragoza), in Chihuahua>Gd Luck

The Valdes have a long and complete geneology on the NET, I am speaking of the Valdes from Oviedo Asturias. Not to be confused with Baldes, unless that is a chosen spelling by someone with V
