There is a Lutheran Church near Halifax, Dauphin Co. PA that is called the St. Peter's - Fetterhoff's Lutheran and Reformed Church and has a cemetery with a number of Fetterhoffs buried in the cemetery.
The Fetterhoff name may relate back to the Federolfs of Wachbach, Germany. The family history of my branch of the Federolf family is that Johann Peter Federolf settled in the Berks County area of Pennsylvania in 1730. Later, a nephew (we think) came over and settled in the Dauphin County area which is where many of the Fetterhoffs originate. The Federolf name has been spelled in many different ways on my side of the family. Known spellings are Fetteroff, Fetterolf, Fetherolf, Fetheralph, and others. Few use the original spelling. I don't know of any of the 1800 families of our branch that use Fettehoff, but there could be some.
I hope that I haven't confused everyone.
