Searching for more information on Sarah (Sally) Gehres, b 1809 in Schuylkill Co, PA, daughter of Johannes Gehres. Sally married David Stutzman in Schuylkill Co. Sally and David were parents of William, Annie, Henrietta, Joel, Sarah, John, David and Mary Stutzman. Sarah and David are both buried in the cemetery at Christ Church, Fountain, Schuylkill Co, PA. Who was her mother? And who were the parents of Johannes Gehres?

Any help would be appreciated

I am also researching the parents. Floyd's Northumberland genealogy/history names the parents as John Gehres and Catharina Otto, also naming the sibblings. I have not been able to find anything more about the parents, who are said to be buried at Deep Creek Church, he having died in 1820 and she in 1873. One of the children had an apparent mother living with her listed twice in a census as Mary Cares and Mary Carus--of course, spelling varied widely by census-taker when those visited were illiterate in English. Another source lists the parents as George Kehres and Catharine Otto. The oldest child was William K. Kehres, born 1808, and he is said to have adopted the Kehres spelling. I would welcome any detail on the parents.

The first child of William Otto's first marriage to an unknown mother was Anna Marie, born in 1788. Catarina was born in 1803. Several sources listing the wife of Johannes Gehres indicate a birth date of 1788, and her name is listed as both Catharina and as Anna Marie. I am still seeking information about the parents of Sarah Gehres (and William K. Kehres, her brother, plus other siblings). Evidence of the marriage of John Gehres would be useful. Whereas Johannes is said to have been born in Germany, his children, in various censuses, have indicated that their parents were born domestically (???). I have been trying to solve the mystery of these parents for more than 15 years and would appreciate any help with real documentation.
