Hello,
I came across your message from 2005 just now. I also am looking for info on William Turnbaugh. All the info I have is that he was born in 1792 and had a son George Washington Turnbaugh Sr., born in 1827 in Guernsey County, Ohio. George married a Phebe (Phoebe?) Hill in 1849 in Guernsey County, Ohio. They had a son, George Washington Turnbaugh Jr., born in 1855 or 1856 in Cambridge, OH. These are my ancestors.

Please let me know if you receive this. I would love any info you may have uncovered!

Thanks,
Kristi Turnbaugh

Hi Kristi, A suprise to hear from someone after so long. Yes, we are related. My Great-Grandfather was George Washington Turnbaugh, Grandfather was Acie Norwood Turnbaugh and Father was Kenneth Turnbaugh. I know that George W. had about 10 children with Susannah Slay - who do you belong to? I have quite abit of information regarding George W's children and have found additional information beyond William that I would be happy to share with you.

Please contact me at ritsis@aol.com

Hi Sarge
Good to hear from you. Afraid my William is not your William. My William Turnbaugh was born 1792 in PA. It took me awhile but have tracked his roots back to Germany and Switzerland. I do have quite a bit of information starting with William however the only other William Turnbaugh I can see on my tree was a son of George Turnbaugh Sr and his second wife Emeline Davis. This William (David) Turnbaugh was born Jul 26 2866 and died sometime around 1937. William married Emeline M Bisher (Fisher?) Jun 21 1894.

Emeline Davis' parents were Joseph Davis & Susan Rolland married Mar 10 1836

This information was retrieved from the Bible records of George Turnbaugh Sr and had been to by C.W. Pratt who was married to Mary Jane Turnbaugh, George Sr's oldest child

Most all of these folks were from Guernsey County, primarily Cambridge. I haven't added most of the siblings etc to my tree as it was just too overwhelming at times.

Don't know if this helps any but if you have any questions or want to check any connections please feel free to contact me.
Regards - Ruthe (Turnbaugh)

My father's name was George Gilbert Turnbaugh born September 15, 1936. His brother's names were John, Cletus, and Kenneth and one sister named Ruth. Father was William Turnbaugh. I believe he passed away 1984 or 1985. I was only a couple of years old and can't exactly remember. Beyond that I have no information about my father's side of the family. I do recall hearing my great uncle who we call Bud ( not even sure what his real name is) talk about a George Washington Turnbaugh somewhere along the line. Just thought maybe since the names I do know were posted we could possible be related and maybe I could finally find out about my family.

I had been researching my husbands family, when due to some personal issues, I had stopped pursuing it. Picking it back up though. Husbands father was Charles, his father is Grant, father George, father George. Need to get out all paperwork to continue though I remember hitting a brick wall when it came to William Turnbaugh born in Pennsylvania around 179?, I believe 1792. Not sure if parents were born here or if they were the first to come to America. It was a hard search as each man married at least 2 or 3 times so that makes for lots of kids. I have all the info for them in my ancestor box. Am getting it all out within next couple weeks and will re-post what I have on all the Turnbaugh's I found related to him. Milly Turnbaugh P.S. Can get ahold of me at millyturnbaugh at yahoo.com directly. Maybe we can compare notes.
