I am trying to find an orphanage or children's home in north central AL that was open in 1904 and still open in 1971. My grandfather was sent there as a child, and ran away. His brother stayed until he was 18. Unfortunately, both are deceased, and I have no idea where it is or what the name of it was. My grandfather's name was Walter William Suggs. His brother was David Eugene Suggs. Can anyone help?

my grandmother was in an orphanage in talladega alabama in around 1912-1915 i don't recall the name, but could look it up if you are interested. this was the only one i could find in north crntral alabama. my search was long and extensive. the family who raised her told her the orphanage she was in was in pinson, but i found out not long ago they had lied to her about the location fo the orphanage. unfortunately the records for the years from 1900-1920 are not indexed. the only way to find out anything is to hire soneone out there to look it up for you or go out there yourself and look it up. i chose to do the latter. i am going out there in march to search records. i hope this is some help to you. pansy grimmett p o box 641 flippin arkansas 72634 or or
