Just found out that my great grandmother Emelia Fischer Smith's parents were born in Germany according to 1900 Iowa Census. Have not been able to find their given names yet or whether there were other children. Help would be appreciated.

I was wondering if this Fischer is any relation. Gertrude Swain was her maiden name
(Parents: Allison Harriet Swain).

Since my posting in May, I have found a great deal of information about my Fischer's. The only Gertrude I have is the daughter of Charles Hattie Fischer. Charles moved from Iowa to Colorado.

Hattie and Charles were my Great Grand Parents. Gertrude was the sister of my grandmother. The family was Louise, Else, Gertrude, Ruth, Betty, Dorothy and a brother Charles who passed away at around age 2.
