Hi,
I have a bit of information about her parents & siblings that I gathered when researching my Poulin/Pooler ancestors who also lived in Brewer.

Hope this helps a bit.

Brenda, thanks for the information. The only conflict I could find was with Henry Pooler. He was married to Lucy Ellen Libby on 16 Nov 1891. He had two children and was a policeman. Is the Henry Pooler that you obtained information on Henry T. (Thophile) POOLER? There is always the possibility that there were two Henry Poolers in Brewer, Maine at that time.

Hi,
Could it be possible that Henry married twice? I found only one Henry Pooler in Brewer in the 1880 census. Also, in the 1891-1892 Brewer directories, there is only one Henry Pooler listed. And in the 1930 census, I see that Henry was 24 at his first marriage, and Lucy was 30. As Lucy was younger than him, that must mean Henry married twice. I also had a Henry Pooler married to Lucy Ellen Libby in my database, but without parents. There may have been one who came to Brewer later, although he was the same age as Levi's son. So for now, I'll leave 2 Henry Poolers, both born c. 1863, in my database, but link the one married to Lucy Libby to Levi's family. But I suspect that they are the same man! :)

Interestingly, Lucy Ellen Libby's mother was a Pooler too.

Thanks!
Brenda.

By the way, do you have any information about a Lucinda Pooler who married Joseph Mutty/Thibodeau in Brewer in 1861? She died before 1864.

Additional information. In the 1910 census, Henry says that he was married twice, and Lucy once. So I'd say that he is indeed the same Henry who married Josephine Lessard.

Brenda, that interesting. There was no mention of his two marriages in my family (he is my great grandfather). Here is some other information you might want to add:

He married Lucy Ellen LIBBY on 16 Nov 1891, St. Francis de Sales Church, Waterville, ME. (Marriage Certificate). His children were:
+Louis Albert POULIN
+Beatrice POULIN

Also, on Levi Pooler, you can probably narrow his death probably between 1880 and 1882. The 1882 Brewer directory shows "Pooler, Angeline, widow of Levi, h. Main, nr. Pendelton ct, S.B." He was alive in 1880 (or at least when they did the 1880 census).

Rosa has some good info in her post but also some that is inaccurate - esp. re: the French names. If you wish to e-mail me, I will gladly send you what I have on Remi ("Levi") Poulin and his wife Marie-Angéline Morin (aka Morrill) who were married 15 Feb 1851 at St.John's parish in Bangor, ME. I also have the names of his parents and their lineage back to Claude Poulin who was baptized on 26 January 1616 in the church of St.Maclou in the city of Rouen, France, who is the ancestor of about 85% of all Poulins in Canada and the US. Some of the Poulins Anglicized their names to Pooler. However, I have no info on their daughter, Adeline.

I grew up in So. Brewer and waved to Policeman Henry Pooler from our porch. Adeline Morrill b. 12 May 1831
quebec, and d. 1901 Brewer, ME. Her dau. Adeline Pooler was born about 1854 and died 3 Jan 1921 in So. Brewer.
Father known as Levi, I believe is Remi and so all the ancestors are known back into France per my unpublished book about THE POOLERS. Good luck!
