Surnames: Dollarhide, Owsley
The Dollarhide family is part of the Owsley family.... going backwards from me:

Lori Lawrence Sullard (now Jenkins)
daughter of Donna Lea Owsley,
daughter of John Maurice Owsley,
son of Homer Allen Owsley and Grace Eudora Dollarhide,
daughter of John Dollarhide (and Sarah D Hobbs),
son of Henderson Dollarhide (and wife ?),
son of Hiram Harrison Dollarhide and wife Mary Polly Kilgore Wright of Wise County Virginia.

As I was growing up, I was always told by word of mouth that the Dollarhide family was of Indian origin, from the Oklahoma area. But, as I am researching it, I am finding documentation that this is incorrect. The documentation I have so far is:

Lori - my husband is part of the Dollarhide bunch too. I have searched and searched and cannot find an American Indian connection either. Larry's bunch goes from Hiram Harrison. I do correspond with a lady who says her family have their Roll # and her great grandmother was Wade's sister.

From what I can figure, they were in Wise Co, VA then moved to MO (Taney County) and then on to OK. That is, James and his family. Jim (James) died in OK in 1939. Wade, his son, died in OK in 1987; Ernest is still living in OK

Would love to compare notes.

their son, James/Elizabeth Jane Roberts

James' son, Wade/Nellie Maggard (2nd cousins)

Ernest; Larry's dad
