My Alexander family is from Oklahoma and they were Black Indians. My ggrandmother was names Susan Alexander and her father was named Alex Alexander. They lived in the Chickasaw and Choctaw nations in Oklahoma. I'm still looking for any good connections to them, and can't seem to find anyone that knows anthing about them. Susan dies about 1910 at the age of 35 or 36. Her father was indicated as deceased in the 1896 dawes rolls.

May are black too - one was born on Georgia, Augustus
Alexander my ggrandfather - there are lots os Alex Alexander
in Louisiana - Geneaolgy.com has the 1900 census with
and index and you can sign up for a year or a month to
month - right now I am doing it by the month. I sure wish
taht we had each other's half:) I think some of them were
able to get away from the Trail of Tears- where they
were all sent to Oklahoma.

Keep looking out and I will do the same. I'm sure there is a connection somewhere. Also I was told by someone on the internet that my family was related to the Colberts and I am of this bloodline. I believe the Colberts and Alexanders came from Louisiana and came to Ok by way of the trail of Tears.
You can E-mail me at Gippy58@AOL.COM
Thanks for all the information thus far
