To clarify my earlier post, I'm researching the following family of Granville and Burke Counties in NC:

William Craig Sr. was born ca. 1735-1740. He died before 1790 in Burke County, North Carolina. He married Christian (Maiden Name Unknown) who was born before 1742. She died after 1790 in Burke County, North Carolina.

They had the following children:

Thomas Craig was born in Oct 1762 in Granville County, North Carolina>. He died on 07 Nov 1839 in Montgomery County, Illinois.

Samuel Craig Sr. was born on 16 May 1764 in Granville or Burke County, North Carolina. He died on 14 Mar 1841 in Caldwell County, North Carolina.

James Craig was born about 1765 in Burke County, North Carolina. He married Mary Wiseman Puett on 24 Oct 1815 in Burke County, North Carolina. He died about 1821 in Burke County, North Carolina.

Mary Craig was born about 1768 in Burke County, North Carolina.

William Craig Jr. was born about 1770 in Burke County, North Carolina.

Elijah Craig was born on 10 Aug 1775 in Burke or Lincoln County, North Carolina. He married Susannah Keller on 02 Feb 1800 in Burke County, North Carolina. He died on 18 Apr 1858 in Caldwell County, North Carolina.

Henry Craig was born about 1777 in Burke County, North Carolina. He died about 1800.

Pleasant Craig was born about 1780 in Burke County, North Carolina. He died about 1840.

Please contact me if you would like to collaborate on thism family. Thank you.

Do you know if any descendents of these male Craig's have tested their DNA?

At least 3 direct male descendants of William Craig, b. ca. 1735-1740 resident of Granville County and Burke County NC, have been tested and are part of the Craig Family DNA project. I don't know if any descendants of John Craig, also from Granville County NC, have been tested. I'd be interested in finding male descendants of John Craig to have Y-chromosome DNA testing performed. I'd also like to find other descendants of William Craig to have them join the Craig Family DNA project. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I am very interested in this family line, as we share common ancestry through Elijah Craig and Susannah Keller. I have different dates for some of the births and deaths that you cited, and I would be happy to forward more information on the extended Craig families to you. If there are any direct male descendants of your Craig line that would like to have DNA-Y chromosome testing done, I'd like to discuss with you also. You can email me at tarheelmd@gmail.com to discuss further. Thank you.
