Keith,
I have a Mary Creevy who married John Maher around 1872 in Chicago. John was from County Westmeath and while looking for him, I found some Creevys in Westmeath. I believe it is the family you mentioned. I saw them in Griffiths Valuation. I don't have the material handy but I'll dig it up and write you back. Was one of your John Creevys' daughters named Mary?

Malcolm,

I find your post intriguing, as you mentioned Sam Creevy, Rommey Creevy and William Creevy. My grandfather was named William, my great grandfather (born around 1885-1892) was named Samuel and his brother was named Rommey or at least a similar spelling to this, it was pronounced Romy.

The only thing is that they were all born in Scotland like me.

If you see this message please let me know if you found out any other information.

Ian,

Was your great grandfather the grandson of Samuel Creevy
and Jane McLellan married in Greenock in 1859.

My own great great grandparents were Robert Creevy and
Catherine Marshall married in Glasgow in 1869.

Best regards,

Richard
