Surnames: Artis, Anderson,
640 acres were given to 15 slaves in the 1712 will of John Fulcher. Does anyone know where and what occupies the land at the present time.

Lewis Conner obtained a patent on 11 April 1715 for 640 acres in Chowan Precinct (now County), NC, on the S side of Marratuck River, joining Beaver Dam, which is a branch of Welshes Creek. ("NC Land Patents, 1663-1729", p. 304, the patent # was 3294 and was on pg. 281 of Patent Book 8). He transfered the patent on 1 September 1715 to Robert Richards, Maria Richards, Kate Anderson, Hester, Betty, Lewis, Sarah, Peter, Troy, Dina and Rachel Anderson, Mingo, George, Sue Anderson, late of Norfollk, Va., Negroes set free by last will of John Fulcher, deceased. Test: John Urmstone, Edward Moseley. ("Hathaways North Carolina Historical and Genealogical Register", Vol. 1, No. 2, p. 286, "Abstracts of Conveyances, Chowan County Register of Deeds") . I do not know who owns the land today.
