Died December 13, 2006 peacefully at home. Roger was born January 25, 1935 in Orangeville, to Clifford and Mary Slawson Kahllo. Roger attended school in Barry County and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1957. As a young man, Roger worked in the timber industry and survived a life threatening fall. He overcame terrible injury, with its lifelong disabilities, to live a life full of friends and family. Roger had an adventurous and independent nature. He loved hunting, fishing and photography. He is survived by nephew, James (Lois) Kahllo; and niece, Gail (Kahllo) Bourdo; also great-nieces, Brooke Bourdo, Hannah Bourdo, Lacey Kahllo; and great-nephew, Chris Kahllo. He was preceded in death by special nephew, John Kahllo; his sister, Mary Lue; and brothers, David, Richard, and Clifford Jr. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20 at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, 133 E. Orchard St., Delton. Cremation has taken place. Private Internment will be in the Woodland Township Cemetery. Memorials to Roger may be made in his name to: The Orangeville Veterans Memorial Fund, Orangeville Twp. Hall, 7350 Lindsey Road, Plainwell, MI 49080.

Thanks for posting this. Roger was a nice guy and a distant relative who helped me track down the photo of our Civil War ancestor.
