Surnames: gidney,
I am trying to trace some relatives with regard to compiling my family tree. My grandmother was a Norfolk lass whose brother, Herbert Temple Gidney, was awarded the M.B.E. in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours of 1962 for political services in King’Lynn.
At the time he was the chairman of the Lynn Divisional Conservative Assn. A former Headmaster, he was also a leading figure in the area of sports. After his retirement he joined his son Eric, farming the 700 acres of Manor Farm at Heacham. I am hoping there will be some family memorabilia- old wedding photos etc that we may exchange. He died in 1966.
I do hope that all of this rings a bell with someone,
Hopefully - Anthony
