My great grandfather's name was Dave Booher, his only child and daughter (my grandmother) was named Maggie Jeanetta Melissa Alifair Nancy Victoria Rebecca Hattie Ann Booher. She first married a Carr--1 child,Mattie. 2nd marriage to William David Whaley (my grandpa). They had 8 children. I don't know anything about my great grandpa's family--I wish I did. I will not get a good chance to go finding anything out until late june or july. I do have a picture of Dave Booher. Very tall, dark haired when younger, was told he was either all or part Cherokee Indian. I wish I knew more or could help more.

Also, Booher's in my family came from Tennessee, then moved to Virginia, around the Bristol area.

This isn't my line, but I'm wondering if your Schiler isn't the same as James Schuyler Booher listed on this forum from Clinton County, KY. Many of your other names are common to the area. I also know that there was a wagon train from Cumberland County, KY (next to Clinton) to TX in the mid 1800s. You might get in touch with each other to see if info matches.

Classification: Query
Surnames: Booher
I am Francis Doodle's cousin. Dave and Virgina Booher are my grandma's parents. her name was Hattie Booher. As for the Cherokkee thing I never heard that. Dave Booher was not from Bristol, VA-TN. He was a coal Miner from Bishop, VA and possibly originated from Davy , WV... I wanted to correct that mis information....
