Hi, any one having information on any of the Hammitt's from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and
Edmond, Oklahoma area. Cherokee Indian
decent. John Hammitt's Mother was a full
blooded Cherokee Princess. He was married
to a Frances Emmons Pelican, from Michigan
had two daughter - Penny Sue and Sherry Ann.
Any info into there ancestry would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Wayne, Are we talking about the same John Hammitt, form Edmond, Oklahoma? If so
I am very much interested in tracing his
fmily heritage. My sister Frances was married to John, and they had two beautiful little girls. So little girls are now married and have families of their own, but don't have much to pass on to there children.
Penny Sherry, both say they have had no luck finding any info. I would love to give them there family roots as a Christmas gift.
I know John's Mother was a full blooded Cherokee Princess, but it has been so many years, I can't even remember her name. I did
meet her a couple of times. But, there are
proud of who they are and I would like to do this for them. So if you can help me, I would really appreciate it. You can email me direct, to GIZMO4402@aol.com. As if you haven't guessed already I am there Aunt Paula. John and Frances (my sister) were divorced many many moons ago, and I don't think John's new wife would appreciate me calling him and talking to him. So I thought of the message board. Now if you are John's brother, or his son, I would appreciate the strick confidence, so that the girls don't find out what I am up to for there Xmas gifts. I have been trying to get ahold of Mark, but don't know where he lives. Thanks again for your reply. Paula

Great! I knew there were some other relatives from that side of the family, I just didn't have the details.
Lets take this off the board.

I don't check that mail very often and usually then only at night. My dad passed a way last summer and I have a bunch of photographs that I need to sort through and may be able to scan and pass on a lot to you.
