My father Mike Protz and my grandfather Michael Protz lived in Glassport, PA at 743 Vermont Avenue and later my father lived in Port Vue, McKeesport. PA. I was born in Glassport at the Vermont St address on June 1937. In the next block was another Protz family, and as I remember, the fathers name was Bill, but I do not remember any of the childrens names. Don't know if this helps any. r\Ronald m. Protz

I have been looking for information about my husband's family. His father was Peter Protz, who lived in Saskatchewan. 1921-2001. His parents were Mike (1884-1948) and Mary (1883-1957) both who are buried at Blaine Lake Saskatchewan. I don't know if this ties in with your family but let me know if it does.

Dear Ronald,

I have uncovered my Mothers Address Book. When I was a child I and my father Edward Prutz, My mother and a brother visited relatives in PA around 1975, give or take some years. They owned a mine. I believe it to be the Mike and Alex mine..She made a notation (miner). I remember there was two brothers and a mine. And there is some relation to my great Uncle Rev. Vladimir Pruc. I recently updated his file.

The addresses I have are:
Mr and Mrs Mike Protz RED 2 Box 143 A West Newton PA (miner)
Mr. Alex Protz Rt 3 West Newton PA (miner)
Joseph Protz Box 301 Somerset Penn.

What I remember is a park across the street with concrete culverts painted and to play on. And
It was made clear then that we are related. There is a connection between Protz and Pruc (Prutz was Pruc). But it was not documented. Someone changed a name to Protz the same as we changed to Prutz. Note that there are Pruc which also traveld to the same loctions as some Protz in Canada. Please research Pruc on your end.

Some day someone will figure this out.
