Hi!
I'm looking for any info on Juan Cruz Yturrieta.
He was born around 1760-70 and was widowed at least twice (1 Juana Martin, 2 Maria Mora (Borrego?) when he married Ana Maria Barela in Tome 1822.
I have not been able to find out where he came from or who his parents were.
His son Juan Jose (born 1823) married Brigida Romero.
From there on I have all the decendants, if anyone is interested I am more than happy to share.
Besides the family line that I am researching I have most of the siblings recorded too.
Juan Jose and Brigida's son Eseiquio married Brigida Candelaria.
Eseiquio and Brigida's son Juan Jose married Juana Lopez.
They had 14 childen, one of them, Luz was my husbands grandmother.
If anyone have any info I would be so thankful.

I grew up in Albuquerque, but my dad's family was from Manzano. My granfather's name was Canuto Turrietta, and he lived in Manzano till his death in 2001. Is it possible that he was a descendant of your family?

Hi Anthony!
I am sure you belong to the same Turrietta that I am researching. Was your grandmother's name Teresa de Jesus de Aguilera?
My father in law is Mario Candelaria and his mother was Canuto's younger sister Luz.
Since you found this site I assume you are interested in your family tree. If you are interested I have lots to share, I've been lucky to be able to trace most of the family tree. The only two branches I hit a deadend with right now are Turrietta's and Candelaria's. We live in San Diego and only visit Albuquerque a few times a year, so it is hard to find the time to research while we are there.
E mail me at moogiemamma@hotmail.com and I will share with you what I have so far.
Looking forward to hear from you!

Hi Dwayne!
Where did you find the info that Turrietta was of Basque origin?

I recently found a Juan Cruz Romero born 1760 in Isleta, his mother was a Maria Yturrieta and he was born out of wedlock. Maria could have been the daughter of Jose Mariano De Los Dolores Yturrieta and Juana Teresa Romero. I have a hunch that this is the Juan Cruz I've been looking for, but I am looking for more proof.
Turrietta and Turieta are the same name as Yturrieta and Iturrieta, I guess over time they dropped the first letter.
I am researching my husbands family as of now. If you need any help with the Turrieta's, let me know.

Kind regards,
Annette Candelaria

Hello

I'm interested in the Turrietta family because I have a DNA match to a Turrietta with a paper trail to Juan de la Cruz Turrietta. Does your husband's paper trail go to Juan de la Cruz? There is some relation between Romero's and the Turrierra's and the bap. record you referenced may be the key. Would your husband be interested in doing a DNA test.
