Searching for info. on the parents of B.F. Johnson. He and brothers Thomas (Benton?) Johnson and Charles were publishers of San Antonio Light. Lived in Louisiana? There seems to be several B.F. Johnsons and Thomas Benton Johnsons. I am relying on family notes from the 70's but I am wondering if the researcher did not mix 2 families together.

"Thomas Benson Johnson born St Mary parish LA 12 Jul 1853 buried German Societies' Cem from home of his sister at 1717 McKinney Ave., Houston. June 19 1906 obit date." - Obit clipping from someone's query. Who was the sister ? There were 3; Mary B b. abt 1855, Ann I b. abt 1857 and Fannie b. abt 1866 who was not found at the above address.

There were only 29 Johnson's enumerated in St Mary parish in 1850 census and 28 listed there in 1860 census. . . . your family is not listed there.

Germany Society Cemetery aka Washington Cemetery, 2911 Washington Ave., Houston Texas. This cemetery borders Glenwood Cemetery and consists of 21.3 acres. Its original 27 acres were purchased in 1887 by local German businessmen who formed an association called Deutsche Gesellschaft von Houston, the German Society of Houston, and established a cemetery for Houston's German citizens. Now owned and operated by Glenwood Cemetery.
