Classification: Query
Surnames: McKee
Daniel McKee, a labourer from 'Murray', was a supporter of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Jacobite uprising in 1745. In 1746 he was recorded as being 18 years old, and he was one of 150 Jacobites transported to the Americas in 1747. But the ship was captured by a French privateer, or man-o-war, and the prisoners were all taken to Martinique. What happened to him next? Are you a relative? I’d love to hear from you!

I don't have any family history information that relates to this Daniel McKee. I believe that our McKee ancestors may have been of Scottish origin but all, as far as I know to date came directly from Ireland. I will keep your query in mind, however.
