My g-grandfather Albin Kessler appears on the attached passenger manifest from 1932.
I'm not sure what it means in the Nationality and Place of Birth columns.
Everyone else on the ship has German as Nationality. His says 'Cal.' Is that short for California?
For the City/State/District it appears to say 'M.Truebau'
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
Citizens of the US appeared on a separate form, not this one.
It doesn't say "Cal" but Csl......
Given a Google search finds:
http://en.factolex.com/Maehrisch_Truebau
It looks like he is from the Czech Republic

Thanks! Now it looks so obvious. CzechoSLovakia - CSL
And that's the German spelling of that Czech town. Which also aligns with other aspects of his ancestry.
