Correction to my previous post. Barbara Curran, John Ford's mother was born in Spiddal. New biography of John Ford from 2001 by Joseph McBride called "In Search of John Ford: A Life" has even more Feeney/Curran genealogy.

I just stumbled on this site tonight and I'm not really well versed in this type of research.

Anyway, my father, Charles Edwin Curran, who grew up in Ottawa, Canada, was telling me tonight that his family tree comes to a halt with John Curran who lived in Akron, Ohio sometime around 1850. Apparently he was married to someone named Elizabeth Feeney. I thought that was a coincidence with your match.

I am looking for a Morgan Curran born in Spiddal. He was my great grandfather and he married a woman, Anne or Anna Conroy. Morgan was killed in a railroad yard accident. My grandfather, John Curran, was about two years old. He was brought or sent back to Spiddal to live with his mother's mother and sister. I can't find a lot on him. Is there a possibility there is a link here?

My maiden name was Barbara Curran, now I'm Barbara Curran Flaws.

Thanks,

Barbara Curran Flaws
