The information in the Last Residence field is NOT necessarily where he last resided. Social Security uses that field for their own purposes.

You can't verify this info because the State of Idaho doesn't release death info until 50 years after the death. Therefore we don't have any other info to go on and his family did live in Bellevue.

--There are three Bishop Creek, CA. One in Mariposa County, near Yosemite National Park; one in Siskiyou County, near the CA/Oregon border; and, one in Inyo County, near the border with Mono County, along Route 395. The three are just names of Creeks. Only one has a town name nearby of Bishop, the one in Inyo County. I checked the US Geological Survey to see if there were any "historically" named populated areas, without success. There are many times were a name found for a person was identified being born in the name of the voter precinct.

---This is the only "Joseph Moran" found in the 1880 Census. There is NO PROOF this is the correct person. This Joseph was four, which could put his birth to 1875, depending on the date of his birth and the enumeration date of the census. This "father" does not show his wife, so, if this "is" the correct Joseph, he may have lived in an orphange etc. But, there is no proof of that. The "correct" person does not appear (readily) in the 1900 or 1910 census, with a person born in California. BUT, the information in the US Census was often wrong.

Joseph Moran, age 53, was shown as born in California to both parents born in CA. So, was this correct or was this the only "guesstimate" available, if given by Joseph or his wife, or even his stepson. This Joseph is shown as being first married at age 21 (about 32 years before [1897/1898] so, he could have been married in the 1900 Census).

BUT, documentary evidence (census, death certificates, birth certificates, etc) are often wrong themselves, do not trust any document until you can match it with other proof. Do NOT trust someone's family tree. I, on a daily basis, find wrong information being posted. I'm constantly correcting mistakes made, or adding information overlooked or misquoted. Do NOT trust anyone that "assumes" information not based on evidence. "I couldn't find them so they must have died..." I think I've found one of the worst genealogists online, a CONSTANT battle to correct errors and send information off list to the original poster.

There are MANY resources online to find the images of the US Census, genealogy records, etc. Far to many for me to list.
