I am looking for information the following individuals buried in the Fisher Street, Atkinson Cemetery in Hemmingford, Huntingdon Co.:

2447 WILLIAM MASSEY 1787 1847/08/29 MASSEY
2448 SARAH WOLLER 1849/02 1850/01/15 MASSEY

My interest is in William Massey b. ca 1821 Ireland who came to Quebec as a child with his parents (names unknown). I think that this William Massey buried in Hemmingford might be my William's father. I do not know Sarah Woller's connection but since she is buried next to William Massey and has the name MASSEY on her tombstone, I suspect she is a granddaughter.

Nothing is known of my William's whereabouts until 1842 at which time he is found in Drummondville, Quebec, marrying Ellen/Eleanor MONTGOMERY.

From Drummondville Protestant Episcopal records:

William Massey, of Melbourne, formerly Wicklow, Ireland, married Ellenor Montgomery, 6th daughter of William Montgomery, Jun 19, 1843.Witnesses: Fred Ployart and Charles Bothwell.

By 1861 William & Ellen Massey and family were living in St. Mary's Ontario.

If anyone has information on this Massey and Woller burial in the Atkinson Cemetery, or information on any Massey - Woller connection in this area I would be pleased to hear from you.

I also welcome suggestions as to what step to take next in my search - are there early census records for this area? (pre 1847) Are there church records I might find that relate to this cemetery?

My name is Barbara Fryday and my mother was Volet Massey - her family originated in Arklow, Co Wicklow, Ireland - the ancestor we ,her children, have dicovered was Thomas, father of Robert Massey whose wife was Susan Everett -if you Google their names you get a book written by some of Robert & Susan's descendants about 1920.
We have had quite an adventure in finding what we now know as our parents did not want us "dabbling in the past".
If we share a common ancestry, which I suspect we do, we are descended from the O'Neill, Lords of Ulster (Northern Ireland)
