I have a copy of the church records for New Hope Baptist Church 1864 - 1907. This church used to be located beside the New Hope Cemetery. The index does not list any Smiths. This is only a partial record because it ends in 1907 but the church is still in existance.

Nancy, You are to be commended for the postings you have made to findagrave but am I correct in thinking Wood Co. has cemetery enumerations available but has chosen not to put them on the Wood Co. site? If so, do you know why? Thanks, Rex Kirby

The records that I have are the minutes of the New Hope Baptist Church that was originally located near the New Hope Cemetery. These records do not list any McNairs. These records that I have span the time from 1864 thru 1907. The church is still active and has records from 1907 forward that I do not have. You might contact them. Sorry I could not be of help.

Thank you with the help. The dates of your records help. Do you have the address of the New Hope Church? Thanks again.

I do not have the address of the New Hope Baptist Church in Mineola, TX. I've written a friend there to see if she can give it to me. If she does I'll post it. I looked in Volume I of "Cemeteries of Wood County, Texas" and under the New Hope Cemetery. I didn't find the name McNair there either. Sorry.
