The Texas Coy's you speak of were originally
de los Santos Coy, and appear as such in the
baptism, marriage and burial books of San
Fernando church and mission records of San
Antonio Texas. Through the years the "de los
Santos" was dropped and only the Coy remains.
Many Coy's can be found in the books mentioned

My granfather was Victor Coy, died in Bastrop in 1954. I just started looking. If there is a connection I'll write.

I am interested in the De Los Santos part of Coy. My grandfather always said the original name was De Los Santos Coy. I have not been able to make a connection. the earliest I have is Espiridion De Los Santos Married to Gregoria Garcia. The death certificate for Espiridion lists his parents as Teofilo De Los Santos and Petra Maldonado. Espiridion was born December 14, 1872 in Mexico (according to his death certificate.) Any information out there will be greatly appreciated.
