She was GRACE MAUD GANOUNG, b.abt. 1889 in MI to NELSON & ESTHER JANE TUCKER GANOUNG. She married BEN DILL of Newaygo Co.MI abt.1910 in Kent Co. MI. Have found 9 children listed for them so far. They divorced in 1930s and both remarried. Grace to Madison Monroe RATHBUN in Kent Co.MI. PLEASE if any of this sounds familiar email me at: sidetracked@voyager.net
Thank you, Barbara

I show a Nelson Ganong Obituary 2/18/1886 in Mecosta County MI. Perhaps a relative? I believe he had at least 1 son, Peter Ganong. I would check with Mecosta County Records, if you ever get the chance.

I have Nelson's military records, census records, Personal record of George M. D. Tucker, who was his father in law.
Family records shared from others. What more have you found? I feel like I have identified him. My mother met him and Ester Jane Tucker Ganoung (aka Ganong). Those are the two spellings that my mom's family chose to use. They dropped the "u" about the time my mom was born in 1911.
Nelson had a first marriage which was listed on his military records which ended in divorce.

I believe we have talked before.

I communicated by mail with Gertie Ganoung Wilhelm about July, l965. I have a vague memory of meeting Grace when I was younger. We went to her house which I think was in Grand Rapids.
Gertie gave us this information by letter July 1965
Esther Jane Tucker, Born Bangor Michigan, died July 9, 1926.
Brother Norris Tucker
Sister Ida May , died March 16, 1949
Sister, Meriba, died Aug 16, 1939.
Her fathers name was George D. Tucker, died July 2, 1908
Her mothers name was Clistia Jane Greenfield Oct 8, 1907
(her mother's name was actually spelled, Calista Jane according to George's military records.
George M. D. Tucker's parents were Ebenezer Tucker and Minerva Pierce. Minerva was born Nov 3, 1803 to Palmer Pierce and his second wife, Lydia Burton, they were married 9/2/1792. Palmer and Lydia had 8 children. Minerva was #6. (note: The Pierce info came from PIERCE Genealogy, Record of the posterity of Thomas Pierce, an early inhabitant of Charlestown and afterwards Charlestown Village (Woburn), in New England.
Excuse any typo's...it's getting past my bedtime.

Janet, have you heard from Tom Jones yet. He is stuck on his research for Calista Jane Greenfield. I am going to do the DNA test because as a granddaughter that would help trace her back. I think it would help.
