I have no connection to the Goodbread family, but..... today I took my mother to the Inghams Mills Cemetery (near Little Falls, NY) to find of some of our ancestors headstones and I happened to notice a head stone prominently mentioning the deceased was a nurse in the civil war. I thought it was interesting so I snapped a couple of pictures and checked out the name on the internet. And here you are... I have pictures of Catherine and Jerome Goodbread's headstones if you would like them. Just let me know.

Do you still have the pictures of Jerome & Catherine Soules Goodbread pictures that you said you took in the Inghams Mills Cemetery???
I am trying to catch up our Goodbread files after some time of neglect. These are my husbands family; Many of his brothers and their families as well as his parents are buried in this cemetery. We live in Florida, and only get up to NYS occasionally.
If you could email the pictures as attachments we would love to have them. Thank you in advance, Winnie

Larry, you talked with Bernie some time ago, I am trying to straighten out some of the Goodbread data.
In the message I am replying to, I find some things we may not agree on, or that can fill some of your gaps,if you will forgive me.
1. Don't find evidence that Solomon Goodbread was in the 115th Ny VOL but have this;---Name: Solomon Goodbread , Enlistment Date: 28 October 1861 Distinguished Service: DISTINGUISHED SERVICE Side Served: Union State Served: New York Unit Numbers: 1672 1672 Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 28 October 1861 at the age of 41
Enlisted in Company Batty K, 1st Light Artillery Regiment New York ,Union, on 02 November 1861.
Wounded on 01 May 1863 at Chancellorsville, VA
Transferred Company Batty K, 1st Light Artillery Regiment New York, Union on 09 October 1863
Transfered in Company 34th, 2nd Battlion Regiment RC on 09 October 1863.
Discharged Company 34th, 2nd Battlion Regiment RC on 11 October 1865
2. The Goodbread, Unknow married to Mattie? Winsman we have as Eugene Goodbread, son of Adam and Abigail Jennings Goodbread and believe Mattie was Sarah M. Winsman.
3. The Goodbread/Getman connection - We have Bastian (John) married to Maria Klock with only 7 children, you say there were 11 children. Could you please give us the names of the 11 you have???? please. You say Daniel T. was one of their children but we think not. We have him as the child of John born 1809 and Mary Catherine Schram Goodbread born 1810. Daniel was not born until 1834 (Maria Klock was born in 1784 so having Daniel T is a bit of a stretch don't you think?)

Your records are correct and thank you for the additional information on Solomon Goodbread. I am sending you the new Chapter X in the book "Gutbrodt is Goodbread" (Revised)

If you can add any additional info it would greatly be appreciated.

By the way what part of Florida?

What do you mean when you ask "what part of Florida?" If you are wondering where we live it is Leesburg, Lake Co.

Did you intend to leave out the names of the 11 children asked for because they named in the book we may get?? Have been doing better with this family after giving it a rest for a while

The revised book will be on a CD and all new information will be in italics. The cost of the CD will be $7.00, including shipping. This is definately a not for profit venture.

If you would like to contribute information that is not currently in Chapter X please let me know.

The information that I sent you is the most up to date that I have. The information on the number of children of Bastian (John) Goodbread and Maria Klock from "Missing Goodbread's" is incorrect

My previous response was generated from the idea that you were going to send us 'something'. As to the Chapter X it is a mystery to us as we do not know if there is anything that we could elaborate on. You ask that we make additions or corrections, I believe.

Previously you had led us to believe that there was nothing in the "Gutbrodt is Goobread" book that related to the NYS Goodbreads or our area of the state. Please advise what we can expect if we get this CD and if it will help in our research, if that is not asking too much. Thanks again, The Grainers
