I'm interested in Richard Shaffer who died 1793 near Nashville, TN. He
married Elizabeth Gambrell. He received a Revolutionary War Land Grant from
NC to land in TN. Trying to find out if there is a connection between Him
and a Richard Shaffer/Shaver in Rowan Co, NC in the late 1700's.

I'm still trying to track the land records. But since there was only one Richard Sheffer during the Revolutionary War time period, I think our Richard Sheffers are one and the same.

It sounds like your Richard Shaffer may be brother to father of my Richard Shaffer. I think the father of my Richard (b 1811) is Josiah.
Do you have will for Richard who died in 1793? I have not located that.

I think my Richard Shaffer is the son of Richard Shaver before he married Elizabeth Gambrell.

Sorry, I haven't found Richard Shaver's will of 1793. I haven't researched in Sumner Co, TN yet. I'm still researching in Rowan Co, NC.
