Criminal records & mugshots from 1800s

Criminal records & mugshots from 1800s

Some time ago the National Archives posted a message on their website saying that they were planning to scan three million crime, court and convict records. This was supposed to be ready by December 2012. I have not seen anything on their website to suggest it's available.

However, I've come across several stories on the internet that suggests there's already a database on Ancestry.uk that has old mugshots from England dating back to the 1800s.
If these records do exist on Ancestry, I have yet to find them.

Does anyone know if these are available and where I can find them?.

Trying to find anything on this site seems almost impossible.

Do you mean the "Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, Pub Black List"?

That's the only one that I've come across on Ancestry with images of the miscreants.

Hi
I'm afriad the records I'm looking for are not the same as what you've listed.

The National Archives were supposed to be releasing criminal records this month which included mugshots. Here's a link that gives more details
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/news/611.htm

Now, the Daily Mail website seems to suggest there's already a database available on Ancestry.uk with mugshots. I have not been able to find any such thing. Here's a link with pictures.
