Hmmm - we're probably cousins. My grandmother is Louise Ruthenbeck Baumgard (Fritz Karl Ruthenbeck x Maria Mundt) who married Adolph Baumgart. They had 11 children, one of which was my mom, Meredith Baumgart, and a sister, Edith, who married Walter Sievert.

Yes! Claus Henry and Caroline were my husband's great grandparents. They moved from Remsen, Iowa and headed west to north central Idaho where they farmed on the Camas Prairie. Numerous family members are still living here in Grangeville and the surrounding area.

Hi folks,

I found these handwritten Hamburg emigration travel records a couple months ago doing a free trial membership; I didn't know about the Ruthenbecks being in the group. The dates below are the dates that the ship(s) left Hamburg with the indicated passengers.

Sievert, Fried. #267 April 1873 Image 34/51 on the Hamburg handwritten passenger list "S".
Ahrens, Aug. April 1873 Image 5/7 on the Hamburg handwritten passenger list "A".
No Mundts at this time.

Sievert, Fritz. A/#834 Oct. 73. Image 48/51 on the Hamburg handwritten passenger list "S".
Sievert, illegible (Gosef?) Oct. 73. Image 48/51 on the Hamburg handwritten passenger list "S".
Mundt, Johan Oct. 73. Image 27/28 on the Hamburg handwritten passenger list "M".
Ahrens, Mathias #771 Oct. 73. Image 6/7 on the Hamburg handwritten passenger list "A".

Images are attached.

The Sieverts, Friedrich and wife Sophia Mundt came to the Okabena area from Illinois in 1890. It would be interesting to have the access to view the above records again and determine if there is a Ruthenbeck within either of the above groups. I wouldn't mind purchasing a single month's worth of access, however, Ancestry.Com runs its subscription service in the same manner as a porn site by stipulating a reoccurring monthly membership charge, with automatic billing. So hopefully, someone else will be able to make this connection.
