I am searching for a Mrs. Eugene Torpey, who painted a picture of my great great grandfather. The painting has him in his civil war uniform, and he is riding a black horse. He lived in the Rochester, Mendon, Macedon area. I am curious about Mrs. Eugene Torpey, who painted portraits.

Was Mrs. Eugene Torpey from the civil war time? If she is not and more current...my uncle was Eugene Torpey and married Virginia. Eugene was the youngest child of Domonick of Philadelphia and Annie from Ireland. Eugene's siblings were from oldest to youngest; James, Raymond, Edward (my grandfather), John, Mary, Thomas, and Joseph. Perhaps you know something of this family? I would appreciate any info.
