I am looking for info on any of the following:

Willim Henry Porter married to Hattie Martin Bowling--my grandparents

Henry Ebenezer Porter married to (1) Margaret Caudill, (2) Maggie Baldridge G grandparents

Cornelius Henderson Porter, Sr. married to Sarah Ann Hannah GG grandparents

A. Joseph Porter (Ireland) to Mary Polly Williamson (Blackfoot Indian)ggg grandparents

I am looking for any info anyone may have that links any to the Cherokee Indian Tribe---we were told we were of Cherokee descendant but not where or when it came into our lineage. Any info anyone can share with us would be appreciated. My sister (51 yrs) is dying and she was always called little Cherokee sister by one of our 1/2 brothers--my father had 13 children and nearly all but myself have that dark hair and olive skin tone. Any relations out there with info about anything to share? I will be glad to share any info I have.

Thank you
Ann

My husband grandma is Omega Porter whose Father was Ross Porter and his father was Millard Porter and then Andrew Porter. I only know that the family is from Rowan County and that is where Ross Porter died in 1983. I would love to compare notes with you as I am just begining my quest for this family.

Hello Forrest,

Unsure if your lineage connects to mine. At this time my house is filled with company but once I am able to check on this info I will respond. I do not remember anyone with the name Eligah but I will check to make sure. Until I am able to get back with you check with the following info: A Genealogical workshop for Decs. of Joseph Porter (1737-1820) Wilkes County, NC" on "11 Sep 2002 6:26 AM GMT".

A. Joseph Porter was married to Mary Polly Williamson i12-18-1817 in Floyd, KY.

A. Joseph Porter fathers name-- I believe was-- Patrick Porter---usure of the name of his spouse. I know of three children: A. Joseph, Bill and John . This generation is where some my info tends to be sketchy. I believe the father of Mary Polly Williamson was Benjamin Williamson.
A. Joseph was the father of Cornelius Henderson Porter, Sr., Cornelius was the father of Harvey Ebenezer Porter who was the father of William Henry Porter, who was the father of my father Rollie Milford Porter, Sr.
Does any of this info tie in with your info?

Thank You
Ann

Forrest, my grandmother was Lurany Porter, her dad was Elijah, his dad was Andrew. I am also trying to find the Cherokee connection that my father Claude says exsists, no luck so far. I'd like to hear from you, I'm Claude and Ruble's oldest daughter Lois, my e-mail Wbranham@cfl.rr.com.
