I have a Maine marriage record of Ameliea Laferriere and Octave Michaud in April of 1920. He father was Georges , her mother was Philomene Pelletier. They lived in Eagle Lake, Maine (my wife's birthplace). Georges was born in Wallagrass, Maine Philomene in Frenchville, Maine

You can get this record for $6 from the Maine State Archives.

Good luck, Dick

PS Found your message during a google search of Georges and Philomene.

Hi Judy,

While I can't really help you with your search, I am hoping you can help out with my own.

I am trying to find information on my father's father, who we are pretty sure was Leon and Eva's son Norman Laferriere who was born in Eagle Lake Maine in 1927. I know Norman was married to a Frances in Eagle Lake, and that he died in 1991 in Maine, and that both siblings (Lucien and Lionel) are also deceased. I have Lionel's obituary but can find no information at all about Norman. Do you know where he lived in Maine or how I would go about finding more information on him?

I forgot I found this online. I think this must be the same Eva you are talking about as the birth year is the same, but the parent names are wrong?

Eva Laferriere's (Normand's mother's) obituary:

September 10, 1906 at Fort Kent the daughter of Joseph and Adelle (Charette) Paradis. She was

She is survived by 7 sons: Lionel, Roy, James, and Joel Lafferiere, all of Dexter; Reginald and Orel, both of Lansing, Michigan, and Patrick of Eagle Lake; 2 daughters, Juliette Stathoplos of Wells, and Annette Jackson of Titusville, Florida; one brother Lucien Paradis of Fort Kent and one sister, Pauline Belanger of Fort Kent; 9 step-children; 42 grandchildren; many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Lucien and Norman, as well as a number of brothers and sisters. Friends called July 24 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated July 25 at St. Anne's Church, Dexter, with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.

Dear Judy and or others,
I am the step daughter of Orel Richard Laferriere. Eva was his mother. I seen on here that you have Orel 's wife as Alvina Wimmer. Orel ( Dick ) divored her years ago. My mother Sue Laferriere was married to Orel for 26 years. He pasted away in 2004.
Someone else was looking for Norman Laferriere he has pasted away too. He lived in Lansing Mich.
If you need to know anything on this family let me know and I will help.

Surnames: LaFerriere
I accidentally found your request and I am assuming you have since had contact with family members. I am the wife of Lucien LaFerriere (DECEASED) whose father was Leon and mother was Eva Paradis. There are numerous children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Leon and Eva. There is a website on Facebook called LaFerriere Clan with many photos and contacts. There were 11 children from Leon and Eva. I have a son in WA state named Leon and there is another Leon in Dexter, ME. His father is Joel LaFerriere. It was so fun to see your request in Good Luck and greetings from LuRae LaFerriere
