Hi List,
I have a DANIEL METHVIN who was born in 1794. He married SARAH. I do not know where they were born.

Their son was HAMILTON TERREL METHVIN, 1837, Georgia. Died Oct. 17, 1886. He married MARY BARRON .

Their daughter was IDONIA METHVIN, born 1885 in Social Springs, Red River Parish, Louisiana. Idonia married WILLIAM WALTER CAMPBELL, 1881, Coleman County,Texas.

Can someone help me go back further with this family than Daniel? Or is there someone here related to this family?

Thank you for you precious time.

Our Daniel married Sarah Black in Ga , born 1799 and died in 1869. Daniel went to Meriwether County, Ga and settled in Luthersville. He engaged in the real estate business. Based on early deeds on file in the Clerk of the Superior Court in that county hewent to Cleburne Parish, La. They had: Dawson Jones, Hamilton Terrell, born 1837, died Oct 17,1886, Red River Parrish, La. andthen they had Lauren and Benjamin born 1826 back in Ga.

I am wondering if this Daniel Methvin is related to a Thomas Methvin who married Sarah Holland. Thomas appears in the estate of Sarah's father Daniel Sumner Holland in Dooly Co., GA, in 1839.

Thomas is said to have been born in Milledgeville, GA, in 1797.

Members of this Holland line also went to Red River Psh., LA. Daniel Sumner Holland had a son of the same name, b. abt. 1795 in Burke Co., GA, d. 1869 in Twiggs Co. Four of Daniel's children went to LA: Cordelia Frances (m. Samuel B. Harris), Lucy M. (m. 1] W.B. Joyner, 2]Henry Anglin), Sarah Amanda Fitzallen (m. Simeon Lawrence Harris, brother to Samuel), and William A. I find that William returned to Twiggs Co. between 1860-1870 to live with his aging mother.

Will gladly share information on these Methvins and the families that connect to them, including the Hollands.

Alaine, don't know if you are still looking for infor on Daniel and Sarah Methvin, but they were my gggreatgrandparents. My ggreatgrand father was Dawson Methvin, a brother to Hamilton. I have some info I got from the Methvin web site that may help you as well. Let me know if you have found out any more on Sarah as I have not been able to gather anything on her. Have info on Daniel and his ancestors but nothing on Sarah. It is as if she just appeared. For some reason I think she might have been an Indian but don't have anything to justify this thought. Can't find them in any census records listed as Daniel and Sarah Methvin. I have found Daniel and the children but no Sarah. I know she was living at the time of the Census and the fact that Indians were not considered citizens may be the reason she is not listed in the house hold. Anyway if you have any info on her please contact me.
