My grandmother's name was Sylvanas Gouveia Moniz. She married Theodore Moniz and they lived in Morgan Hill California. Their children were Henry, Hilda, Leonard (my father), Joseph, Lola and George. They had more that
died at birth I believe. My grandmother was from Hawaii and attended school there. I would like any information regarding their history. We were recently in Hawaii and there are a lot of Moniz families there as well as Gouveias.

I found an article in the newspaper featuring my grandmother (Sylvana Moniz) when she turned 100. She was an avid gardener and raised birds. My grandfather Theodore (Joe) and my grandmother were from Hawaii but their parents were Portuguese immigrants to Hawaii. My grandmother died at 103. She went to school in Hilo (St. Joseph's girls school). Her wedding gown is in a museum in Morgan Hill, CA.

This was my grandmother who married Ed Alexander Stout a U.S. soldier. She was born Oahu approx. 1901 and died Nov. 28, 1949. Records indicate a marraige to a Floyd Linden from St Louis, MS. Records also indicate a final marraige to a Bowman. I know very little about this side of my family. Anything sound familiar to you?
Still Searching...

Classification: Query
Carolina Moniz (aka Cannie Miguel) was my great-grandmother. She married Frank Miguel. They immigrated to Hawaii in 1877. Maybe you can help me too.
